Inspired by a vision of how wireless Internet technology would change the way people everywhere communicate with each other, find information, and search for what they need and want, Jason Devitt co-founded Vindigo Studios in 1999. He named the company Vindigo, from the Latin word "Vindico", which means to liberate or make free, because Vindigo Studios is liberating the Internet from its desktop prison, the PC.
Jason continues to drive the company's product and business strategy, and is recognized as a leading evangelist for the delivery of content and services to mobile devices. He has been described by Red Herring as one of the most creative people in publishing and by Internet World as one of the 25 rising stars of the Internet. He is a member of the board of directors of the IAB.
Prior to founding Vindigo, Jason worked at the technology-driven investment bank D.E. Shaw & Co. Jason holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, a Master's degree in Engineering Science, and a Diploma in Law from University College Dublin and the King's Inns in his home town of Dublin, Ireland. His graduate research concerned techniques for delivering full-motion video over noisy channels such as wireless phones.
In 2000, Marci Weisler brought years of experience in both Internet and wireless, as well as the cable industry, to Vindigo Studios.
